Cameron Chaffee

Cameron began training jiu jitsu in Philadelphia with Prof. Brian Rago. Very early on Cameron decided to dedicate himself fully to the martial art and within a year he moved into the academy to train full time. Cameron became an integral part of the gym and after 8 years of rigorous training, study, and successfully competing at all levels Prof. Rago promoted him to black belt.

 

When circumstances lead Cameron to move to Arizona he considered only one academy to continue his journey: Maracaba BJJ. Prof Andre was Prof Rago’s first instructor and therefore part of Cameron’s lineage at a fundamental level. Cameron demonstrated the same dedication and technical integrity leading Prof. Maracaba to invite him to teach within several months, a rare honor given the extremely rigorous standards expected.

 

In the fall of 2024 Cameron and his wife Alvina began expecting their first daughter.   During the summer of 2025, they moved back to their hometown in Pittsburgh Pa, to be closer to family and start their next chapter: building a Jiu Jitsu academy.
